A local brewery was thirsty for growth, so we took them global.

Insight Brewing launched at a time when the nation was seeing a new brewery open every day-and-a-half. It was our job to elevate their brand so that it had a fighting chance in the fiercely competitive and extremely creative craft beer category.

Our research showed that craft beer drinkers were a curious bunch—always willing to explore new brands and styles of beer. But as we looked at the competition, we noticed everyone else playing it safe and keeping it local with “Get beer from here!” messaging.

Insight became Minnesota’s fastest growing craft beer, moving over 20,000 barrels in just two years.

In order to get noticed, we knew we had to swim against the current. Insight’s brewmaster traveled the world to learn craft brewing and each beer he created was inspired by his adventures. So we decided to go global with our Never Stop Exploring strategy.

We created a lore-inspired backstory from the country of origin of each beer. Then we named them and designed the cans. We knew Insight had to win head-to-head battles at retail, so to stand out among a sea of rivals, we broke industry rules and went with a heavy block of black punctuated by fluorescent details.
